Living in the Light

Ephesians 5 : 1-2 shows us how to follow God's example in everything we do. God wants us to follow His will for our lives. Some of us may wonder how we can know what God wants us to do. In verse 2 we are told: "Live a life filled with love for others, following the example of Christ, who loved you and gave himself as a sacrifice to take away your sins. And God was pleased because that sacrifice was like a sweet perfume to Him". I need to ensure that I'm a sweet-smelling perfume to God.

Here we see that God wants us to be like Jesus Christ. As we look at His life, we can see how God would like us to think and act. We are to love our enemies just as Jesus did.

As difficult as imitating Christ might sound, anything is possible with God's powerful help and by His grace.

May God bless you as you strive to follow His example in everything you do.

  4. I really enjoy time alone, gardening, blogging, etc. The other day I was wondering if I am being selfish, and not doing what God would have me do. It occurred to me that I am to act in love, and remembered that God does intervene sometimes with people who need things from me. I don't need to wonder what I should do for God, because he provides for that. I thanked God for that thought, and felt such gratitude that my ticket is punched through the gift of faith in Jesus.

Now, this post came my way to seal the thoughts!

I hope you are having a great 4th!

  5. Hi Sue, the carer (meaning mothers and women of the home) needs time out to care for herself else she cannot care for others when she burns out. Thanks, I thought of you all on 4th July and hope you all had a wonderful Independence Day. (((Hugs))) Jo from South Africa
