Praise Offerings

With Jesus' help, let us continually offer our sacrifice of praise toGod by proclaiming the glory of His name. Heb 13:15

A praise offering asks a lot of you. If you can praise God when you are financially hard hit, when you suffer humiliation that you can hardly bear, or when you develop a chronic illness that won’t go away, you are bringing God a praise offering. Only later may you come to realise that you are grateful for these negative things in your life because the Lord has used them to make you resemble him more closely.

Bringing God a praise offering is never easy – we tend to complain about our crises rather than to praise God for them. But if you manage to overcome this, it will add a completely new dimension to your faith. The longer you bring God a praise offering (rendered at a price – for any offering will cost you something), the more genuine it will be.

And if you keep it up, even if you don’t feel like doing so, it is proof of your faith and trust in God.

Jot down the one thing that you are the least thankful for, and try to praise God for it – then go on to believe and trust that this problem will eventually act as a blessing in your life, and that the Lord will in the end use it to His honour and for your own good.

  1. Hi Jo, Hope your idea works for people also. I have a friend I'm struggling with recently and need help to get rid of these bad feelings I have. I'll try your great idea.

I seriously need to find this gal's good qualities and 'praise' them---rather than getting so upset at her negativeness and attitude...

    Thanks---I needed this one.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  2. Oh Betsy, I think I should do a post on how many times I've had to "release" someone that I've had issues with. 70 x 7? That's what Jesus taught. Thanks for your comment and I pray that you praise those good qualities. Everybody has them. Bless you. (((Hugs))) Jo xxx

  3. Hi Jo,
Dropping in to see how things are going. Sounds like you are in good spirits.
Where is that boat/shipwreck in your picture?
    Have a lovely day, Hugs!

  4. Hi Dedene;) I'm glad the lift in my spirits is noticed. (lol!) The photo is of the plains on the outskirts of the city after the flash floods two weeks ago. That is/was someones home. Sad, isn't it?
